I travelled across the United States from New Jersey to my
new home in Portland, OR with 4 finches. I have had a lot of finches throughout
my life. Some had names like T&A, Tweet, Ugly, Flattop, Monk, Peaches,
Dummy, Lillian, Ree Ree. Some finches never had a name. One of my 4 finches
died today. I found it at the bottom of the cage. Cold. Stiff. The other birds
were quiet. I buried it in my new backyard with a gardening shovel I bought at
a garage estate sale. It did not have a name for me to put on its headstone.
