Postcard #90: Fog - 3

Rolled a 3. Randomly chose the tree.  The person leaving the room. The flashlight (lamely).

Postcard #90: Fog – 3

US-3932910 The General Lewis Inn

Lewisburg, WV 24901

A charming antique filled country inn that has welcomed the traveler with warm hospitality, personal service and gracious dining in an historic setting since 1929.

I pushed open the heavy door slowly only realizing halfway that my parents did not lock the door the night before. A dense fog sat on the lawn, the grass looked cold and moist. I wouldn’t need my flashlight after all so I left it on the porch. I crossed the lawn stepping off the paved walkway as soon as I was able. The grass was colder than it looked and colder than the air tasted. I paused and waited to see if I could hear the noise again. The noise waited to pierce the silence of the morning until I was totally silent, holding my breath from joining the fog. The sound came from a tree in the distance. I am positive, it was not my cat but…

Por Avion!

By the end of it I suppose I could have dropped the flashlight and picked up the listening to a sound, the magnifying glass (investigation).

The person wanted a postcard with fog.  I've had this one for a while.  I think ultimately they wanted something with water reflections.  But my postcard is already 5 DAYS OVERDUE.  I know I have a postcard with water refections in it. But I know it needed work and I would have to scan the old writing.  Transcribe it.  Then do my cover job to the old postcard...then write.  I CAN NOT DO THAT.  I'M LATE. I have errands.  My ass is killing me from my bike ride yesterday (I liken it to being hit in the ass with an aluminum baseball in a wide upper swinging motion making sure to hit me just below my buttcheeks).  Ain't nobody got time for that. So I am sorry wintersonne, Honestly.  Life is full of disappointment.  I will never make your wall of favorite postcards.
